Satellite communications are an essential part in our global telecommunications system, and Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) technology plays a special role by providing data and Internet to inaccessible areas such as the seas and the rural areas.
On March 31, NiAT, the nation’s official satellite services provider, launched the first VSAT Hub in Brunei Darussalam. This marks another exciting step towards a connected education, a connected community, a connected economy, and a connected Brunei.
The launch was accompanied by three webinars introducing NiAT’s corporate profile and the solutions suite, along with the specific technical and commercial information in relation to the VSAT Hub.
The webinars were delivered by NiAT’s CEO Lim Ming Soon, who explained about organisation milestones, and striving for satellite solution in Brunei Darussalam, followed by NiAT’s Deputy CEO Siti Nuraazzah PDHA Aziz, who spoke on the satellite industry relating to the company’s services, and NiAT’s Head of Technical and Operations Wong Teck Sion, who shared on the ACTIVATE network architecture.
The online launch was attended by participants from multiple government sectors, the oil and gas industry, the private sector, international clients, and strategic partners.
