Under the direction of the Head of Product Development, GIS Technician performs applications and/or database design and development. The GIS Technician implements services for departmental users utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and supports environment, policies and procedures, standards, and the accuracy and consistency of the GIS information. Develops GIS solutions and provides support after the product is delivered, incorporates software solutions within the GIS architecture in order to meet the future needs of the organization.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum HnD or Bachelor’s degree in Geographical Information Systems, Geography, Survey or similar field.
  • Work-related experience pertaining to Geographical Information Systems highly desired.
  • Experience using either Autodesk Civil3D, Autodesk Map, QGIS or ESRI ArcGIS software suites and the techniques and methodologies associated with Geographic Information Systems, including mapped and tabular data and coordinate systems. Knowledge and experience with the maintenance of software in a networked computer environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration, basic CAD functionality and programs, MS Access, MS Project, Relational Database, and Cartography
  • Experience in Python Javascript, SCC, IOS and Android Application Development. Experience creating high quality map products, working with graphical designs and other visual reproductions for presentation and distribution.
  • Knowledge of research methods and techniques, statistical procedures, general principles, concepts and terminology used in research in order to gather data for importation into GIS.

Programmer’s primary role is to design, create, develop, integrate various programs, systems or software for the Product Development Department. Programmer is tasked to create new programs, applications (web-based / mobile), train end-users, analyze algorithms, modify source-code, write system instructions, debugging and maintaining operating system. He / She is also tasked to manage system performance, providing tech support, review and update programs, is able to handle various API, develop in-house software and mitigate potential risk. Programmer’s role will help team to increase efficiency and service through automation, code handling and be able to streamline all systems, hardwares, softwares and programs into a seamless system architecture in the development process.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum ND or HND in computer science, software engineering, or related field
  • Relevant experience in programming, software development, DevOps, UI/UX, or full-stack development preferred
  • Proficient in Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, HTML
  • Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies, data structures, and algorithms
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, version control systems
  • Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience in software development, UI/UX design, and software maintenance in networked environments
  • IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Oracle, CompTIA) are a plus

 

The person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with broad, generalist responsibilities, but with specialist legal subject skills in commercial law and regulatory matters pertaining the telecommunication and space technology sector. The person will be responsible for counseling the business operations by giving pro-active, professional, competent, cost-effective and creative legal support. The person will need to bring negotiation and drafting skills and business sense to deal with multiple functional teams in a rapidly scaling business. The person will collaborate with local business leaders (Business Development and Technical & Operations) as well as with supporting areas (Accounting & Finance and HR) advising on legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to the company businesses. The person will be required to work independently as well as part of various teams and take on projects in addition to the daily day job.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or any related fields.
  • Experience of 3 years in relevant role with proven track record in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of Brunei’s telecommunications regulatory policies and law.
  • Knowledge of satellite and telecommunications industry.
  • A strong grasp of telecommunication technology and to conduct legal and regulatory discussions.
  • Litigation skills to handle administrative procedures within public authorities and court litigation
