Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th June 2024 – As part of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE) 2024, Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NIAT) Sdn. Bhd. organize a one-day program that discusses the roles of artificial intelligence (AI) and geographic information system (GIS) technology.
The event was held at the Brunei Innovation Lab (BIL) in Kampong Anggerek Desa.
The program, “Transformative Solutions with GIS and AI”, sought to offer insightful information of how GIS and AI can be leveraged to address contemporary challenges, enhance operational workflow and drive innovation for professionals across various sectors and academic institutions.
Three sub-programs were carried out during the event: “Exploring Brunei: A GIS Journey Through Tourism”, “Mapping Tomorrow: Exploring Geospatial Innovation”, and “Safety Made Easy with AI” and the speakers for each respective topics were GIS Engineer, Emily Yong; GIS Technicians, Nooramalina Ramlee and Hajah Ramizah Asmali; and Research and Development Project Engineer, Siti Nuramirah Sabli.
Participants of the program had the opportunity to thoroughly explore the cutting-edge GIS and AI technologies. Along with hands-on activities and live demonstration of these technologies, participants also received real-world examples of how it can solve complex problems and improve decision-making processes in organizations and academic settings.
In addition, the program also provides a platform for participants to network with NIAT experts and build connections, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaboration in the future.
Through this program, it is hoped that it will equip professionals and future-ready youth in embracing technological transformation thus helping Brunei to achieve one its aspiration in becoming a Smart Nation.
