Years into the pandemic, e-learning has been a challenge for both teachers and students globally. Brunei was no exception. This has become a major challenge for people residing in the remote area, particularly Kampong Sukang and Kampong Melilas.
With so much unknown, one thing is clear: they need a reliable internet connection.
But — Good news! They each now has a 4Mbps link!
Thanks to NiAT and the Ministry of Education for their initiative in filling the gap where internet is out of reach for these teachers and students.
Two 1.8M VSAT antenna with 8W BUC were successfully commissioned in each village allowing stable and reliable internet access for these unconnected people. The equipment at both sites were powered by solar energy with an average of 6 hours per day.
Both NiAT and MoE hoped that such initiative will provide equal learning opportunities for all during this difficult time.
Connecting the Unconnected – this is our main mission.
