NiAT’s main priority has always been to provide connectivity. To ensure customer satisfaction, NiAT frequently considers the needs of its clients and ensures that it provides the right products, services and even connection they need.
Recently, NiAT successfully commissioned the C-Band service for two of its key clients in Labuan and Kampong Salar.
In October of last year, NiAT field technicians traveled to Labuan and successfully commissioned C-Band service for one of the company’s clients. The installation occurred in Labuan Port.
The C-Band system installation includes a 2.4-meter antenna, a satellite modem, and nine WiFi applications for the vessel. This C-Band service will provide the vessel with a non-shared dedicated channel and internet connectivity with a total bandwidth of 7Mbps for its operational use and crew onboard.
The whole installation of the C-Band services in Labuan took approximately two weeks to complete. The link for the vessel was successfully commissioned on 21st October 2022.
On January 9, 2023, the team has once again commissioned another C-Band service with a 2.4-meter antenna for another key client in Kampong Salar.
What is C-Band?
Today, C-band plays a significant part in the global telecommunications infrastructure as it performs at a lower frequency range that is more suited for voice and ISP needs. It is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum designated for satellite transmissions between 4GHz and 8GHz.
Benefits of C-Band
C-Band communication has two physical advantages over Ku-Band: resilience to “rain fade” and the availability of wide beams, resulting in more reliable internet connectivity unlike Ku-Band.
