Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NiAT) Sdn Bhd yesterday hosted a one- day seminar on ‘OBSERVE: Harnessing Geospatial Intelligence for Climate Change” at the Ampitheatre, Brunei Innovation Lab (BIL) in Kampong Anggerek Desa. The seminar was held in conjunction with the current Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE) 2023.
“Climate change is one of the most significant challenges we face today, and GIS technology provides us with a crucial toolset to understand, analyze, and respond to its impacts,” said Wong Teck Sion, Head of Commercial at NiAT Sdn Bhd, while delivering his opening remark.
“In this seminar, we will explore how GIS enables us to not only monitor, but also adapt to climate change. With the insights gained from GIS technology, we can pinpoint areas most vulnerable to change and develop targeted strategies for adaptation and mitigation to reduce climate-related disaster risks.”
“We are excited to provide participants a unique platform to unlock the full potential of GIS in addressing the complex challenges posed by climate change. This seminar will not only provide participants with invaluable knowledge but also empower them to actively contribute to climate change operations through the innovative use of GIS technology.”
Present to deliver the talk at the seminar were Geographic Information System (GIS) Engineer at NiAT Sdn Bhd, Emily Yong Pey Pey, and Sales Engineer, Faiz Ya’akub.
The seminar served as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing best practices, and fostering collaboration among participants from various sectors, including government agencies, research institutions, non-
