NiAT and Maxar have partnered to expand their development and reach within the geospatial industry in Brunei Darussalam. Both companies will collaborate to provide high-resolution imagery that will be beneficial to the oil and gas, maritime, and defence sectors.
Maxar Technologies, a space and intelligence company based in the United States, combines satellite data and machine learning to create actionable insights about our changing planet. This enables commercial businesses and government agencies to monitor, understand and navigate our world in new ways and on a global scale.
NiAT’s partnership with Maxar will allow more remote sensing and Earth observation capabilities to be available in Brunei for commercial and civil government users of high-resolution and up-to-date satellite imagery. This imagery can be accessed either on NiAT’s web-based global map or on OBSERVE™, which allows the imagery to be layered with other data using geographical information system (GIS) tools.
OBSERVE™ is NiAT’s versatile GIS platform that allows users to visualise data and disseminate location-based information. This gives users the ability to monitor geo-referenced events for situational awareness and planning. Those with questions like “What is happening there?” and “Where is this event happening?” will find this service very useful to increase the accuracy of their future plans.
Maxar’s products can be accessed on NiAT’s OBSERVE™, geospatial web-based platform, which allows data visualisation, spatial analysis, imagery library, information dissemination and operations planning, execution and reporting.
