Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st May 2024 – Her Excellency Ambra Dickie, the High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam, yesterday paid Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NIAT) Sdn. Bhd., a local satellite communication company in Brunei, a courtesy visit at NIAT’s Headquarters in Menglait.
Together with her was Eva E.C Ng, Trade Commissioner, High Commission of Canada in Brunei.
Present to welcome the Canadian envoys were NIAT’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lim Ming Soon, and other members of the management.
The visit began with an insightful briefing on the company’s history, mission, and its role in the telecommunication landscape in Brunei. The envoys were then briefed of the latest innovations in driving connectivity solutions that NIAT has to offer. During the visit, both NIAT and the High Commission also talked about identifying partnership opportunities in between both countries.
“My visit to NIAT provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about NIAT’s services and priorities, and to explore how Canada and Brunei can work more closely together on developing Brunei’s info-communications technology and satellite services, in line with Wawasan 2035”, said Her Excellency Ambra Dickie.
The purpose of her visit is to gain a deeper understanding of NIAT functions in Brunei including current initiatives, challenges, and goals for the future; as well as to exchange Canadian capabilities, their best practices, and experiences in satellite telecommunication that may be of interest and beneficial to Brunei.
