Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th January 2024 – Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NIAT) Sdn. Bhd., Brunei’s prominent satellite communication service provider, kicked off the new year with a commitment to fostering a fitness-oriented healthy lifestyle among its employees. In line with this pledge, NIAT organized its first-ever Corporate Sports Day, a two-part event featuring a thrilling netball tournament and the main sports day event.
Held at Berakas Sports Complex, the main sports day event marked a departure from daily routine tasks as teams engaged in spirited sportsmanship, showcasing the collaborative culture embedded in the workplace. Divided into four dynamic teams, creatively derived from the company’s acronym—Team Network, Team Integrity, Team Assurance, and Team Technologies—the competition promised intensity reminiscent of the fond days of adolescence.
The event featured an array of races and challenges, including athletic races, the thrilling Tug-of-War and other fun-filled sports activities such as sack and hula hoop races. Champions were crowned in each race, receiving gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded to the outstanding performers.
Preceding the main event, NIAT hosted a Netball Tournament at the JKR Indoor Sports Complex on January 24th, 2024. This served as the first part of the Sports Day, setting the stage for the grand culmination.
As the overall victor, Team Technologies emerged triumphant securing 10 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
The event celebrated the exceptional performances of the MVP Male: Raymond Two Soon Peng, and MVP Female: Fariza Nayyira Yean binti Abdullah Chua, individuals who truly embodied the spirit of sportsmanship and athleticism.
The day concluded with a celebratory lunch, where employees cherished the memories created and the bonds strengthened. Employees left with a sense of accomplishment, having weathered a heatwave of celebrations and achievements in teamwork and healthy competition of races and challenges.
